The Young and the Restless Monday, December 9 Recap: Sharon’s Meds Tainted with PCP – Jordan Reports Setback to Ian

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, December 9, reveals that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will arrive at the Abbott mansion, where she’ll tell Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) they should show a united front and tell Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) the news about Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) themselves.
Kyle will protest since Claire wanted to break it to Harrison that she was leaving the nanny role, but Summer will be insistent.
After Kyle wonders if Summer is really OK with his relationship with Claire, Summer will suggest it’s none of her business.
Kyle will assume Summer is still happy with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), but she’ll admit they’re taking a break and will explain all the drama that resulted from Daniel Romalotti Jr.’s (Michael Graziadei) arrest.
Summer and Kyle will eventually tell Harrison about Claire’s exciting new job working for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and how it means she can’t be his nanny anymore.
Although Harrison will be disappointed, he’ll be glad when Kyle promises Claire will still be his friend.
Harrison will admit he’d hate to never see Claire again since he loves her so much.
At Society, Claire will talk to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) about all the positive changes in her life, but Victoria will privately express concern to Cole about things moving a little too fast.
Once Kyle meets up with Claire, he’ll admit Harrison already knows she won’t be his nanny anymore.
Claire will be upset since she made it clear that she wanted to tell Harrison herself.
However, Kyle will explain how Summer made it a sticking point for them to tell Harrison together.
Once Kyle assures Claire that she can still talk to Harrison later, she’ll soften and share some kisses with him.
At the cottage on Monday’s Y&R episode, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will arrive with updates on the toxicology report that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) passed along.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will all learn that Nick’s hunch was right.
Sharon’s meds were indeed altered since there’ll be evidence that PCP was added to the bottle to coat the pills.
Michael will admit it’s unlikely to have been an accident, but he’ll note that the lab wasn’t able to explain how the medication was tampered with.
That’ll still be a question they need to answer.
PCP can cause hallucinations, memory loss, aggression and paranoia, so Sharon will reel as she notes that she experienced all of that.
