Terese Willis’ (Rebekah Elmaloglou) world came crashing down in Neighbours, as David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) exposed Paul Robinson’s (Stefan Dennis) claims of ill health.
Paul, as fans know, was less than pleased when Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher) told him he was on the mend last week.
The soap legend was determined to ensure that Terese stayed by his side long enough for him to win her affection and trust once more, and therefore he lied, claiming that he was still unwell.
If that wasn’t enough, he then paid a dodgy doctor to fabricate a diagnosis for him!
Paul’s plan worked seamlessly, with Terese falling in love with him all over again while caring for him. The duo were so over the moon that they even decided to renew their wedding vows.
David, however, knew that something fishy was going on, as Paul’s so-called specialist had a history of foul play, and had even been called before the medical board on one occasion.
At first, David believed his dad had lost his confidence in the wake of The Flamingo bar tragedy, but he soon realised that there was more to this than meets the eye, and therefore he confronted Paul, demanding to know if he was fabricating his diagnosis to win back Terese.
Paul feigned shock at first, but soon enough he came clean, pleading with David to keep quiet.
At first, it looked as though he might do so, but after setting his sights on little Abigail, David was reminded of what happened the last time Paul asked him to keep shtum about something.
