Neighbours announces return for another classic character
Neighbours spoilers follow.
Neighbours has announced that classic character Dr Darcy Tyler is making a return as part of the soap’s upcoming 40th anniversary celebrations.
Mark Raffety is reprising his role as the character, with the soap’s official Facebook account announcing the news by sharing a photo of him holding a Ramsay Street sign.
“Dr Darcy Tyler returns! Susan’s nephew will make a shock return to Erinsborough as part of the show’s 40th anniversary celebrations,” the caption reads.
“But has dastardly Darcy changed his ways? Or is he set to cause more misery for his old neighbours? We cannot wait to find out…”

Darcy initially appeared on Neighbours between 2000 and 2003, before returning for another stint between 2004 and 2005.
During his time on the soap, Darcy began a relationship with Dee Bliss before embarking on an affair with schoolteacher Tess Bell. Darcy and Tess eventually got engaged, but Tess jilted Darcy on the day of the ceremony and fled to London.
After being released from prison for burglary, Darcy’s later stint revolved around his discovery over the identity of the father of Izzy Hoyland’s baby.
He ended up in a coma, but then started to blackmail Izzy when he woke up.
It looks like Darcy and Tess could reunite for the first time since Tess fled from Ramsay Street, as it was recently confirmed that Krista Vendy will also reprise her role as Tess in 2025.

Tess initially appeared on the soap between 1999 and 2001, before making a brief return in 2023 as part of the school protest storyline.
The soap announced her return on its offical Instagram account yesterday, writing: “Another blast from the past! Krista Vendy is soon set to reprise her role as Tess Bell… but what’s brought her back to Erinsborough this time?”
Script producer Shane Isheev also teased the character’s return on social media, writing: “If only you knew WHY Tess is back!” alongside a smirking face emoji.
