Coronation Street star confirms final scene has aired after four years
Max Turner actor Paddy Bever has confirmed his character’s final scenes in Coronation Street have aired, marking his exit from the show.
The troubled teen was sentenced to six and a half years in prison after an arson attack on the Platt family home as part of an insurance scam.
He started the fire to help David pay back the money he owed to notorious gangster Harvey Gaskell, who has since threatened Max’s safety behind bars.
Recent scenes in the ITV soap saw him call David and Shona from prison, assuring his dad he loves him and telling them both “night night” before hanging up.

Taking to Instagram, Paddy has shared that his exit from the show after four years has been one of “the hardest decisions” of his life.
“Hey, so if you are watching this, it means that you have also watched Max’s exit and therefore you know I am parting ways with the role and the show,” he said in the video.
“That comes with a huge cocktail of emotions because I’ve had just the most wonderful time with this role and this show and to be part of something with this magnitude has been madness.
“But yeah, I just wanted to say thank you so much to everybody who’s tuned in.”
He continued by thanking his fans, as well as those who might not have liked his character: “To those of you who love Max, to those of you who hate Max, thank you.

“He’s certainly been very complex and a real privilege to play, and to be part of the Platts family of course, and to be part of such an amazing team for three years has been incredible and you know, very informative years for me.
“It is a very strange feeling that it’s coming to an end and it’s definitely been amongst the hardest decisions of my life because I’ve just had the most amazing time.”
Paddy announced his exit from the soap earlier this year to “explore new opportunities.”
In a statement shared with Digital Spy, he said: “After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max and Coronation Street to explore new opportunities.
“I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.”
