Coronation Street fans predict that Carl will take advantage of Debbie’s dementia to ‘con her out of money.’
Coronation Street fans are worried that Carl will take advantage of Debbie’s dementia diagnosis and try to steal her money.
In last night’s episode (Monday, April 14), Carl learned about Debbie’s potential dementia.
But will he use this information to target her finances? Fans certainly think so.

Carl’s arrival in Weatherfield
Carl made his debut on the cobbles this month, initially clashing with Abi over a parking spot at Freshco.
After Abi revealed that her husband has cancer and gave him a sharp slap, Carl remained unfazed. Instead, he flirted with her and invited her out for a drink.
Later, Abi was introduced to Carl again, only to be surprised to learn he’s Debbie and Kevin’s brother.
Meanwhile, Debbie has been hiding the fact that she’s been referred for dementia tests from her family.
After getting engaged to Ronnie last night, Debbie confided in Carl about her upcoming tests. Carl showed concern as Debbie kept up a brave front in front of her brother.
Coronation Street fan theory suggests Carl will steal from Debbie
Now that Carl knows about Debbie’s memory loss and signs of dementia, a new fan theory on Coronation Street predicts that he might take advantage of the situation to steal from his sister.
One fan posted: “You’ve got to be kidding me. They’re bringing Carl into the Debbie storyline now. If they have him steal her money or blackmail her, there’s going to be a massive backlash.”
Another viewer added: “He’s been called and isn’t getting the money he wants, so… cue a scam or theft of Debbie’s money.”
A third commented: “Carl better not try to take advantage of Debbie just because she won’t remember.”
A fourth concluded: “Carl could rob Debbie and blame it on her dementia.”
