Coronation Street fans have been left floored after hearing Todd Grimshaw actor Gareth Pierce’s real voice for the first time.

The actor made his debut on the soap in 2020, replacing Bruno Langley, who had played Todd since 2001.

Over the years, Todd has been involved in several big storylines. From his shock failed romances to plenty of feuds, his time on the cobbles has not been short of drama.

Especially at the moment, as earlier this year he struck up a romance with Silverton (James Cartwright). However, it later came out that Theo was married to Danielle (Natalie Anderson) and the pair had two kids.

As well as this, Todd’s beloved aunt Julie (Katy Cavanagh) died recently after a battle with cancer. Julie returned to the soap earlier this year after 25 years as part of Eileen’s (Sue Cleaver) exit storyline.

However, following Julie’s death, and in a shock twist, Todd’s mum Eileen was questioned over her death and is now being investigated for her murder.

In addition to Corrie, actor Gareth has featured in an array of other TV programmes over the years. His resume includes roles in the likes of Mr Selfridge, Ordinary Lies and Hollyoaks.

Gareth also starred in Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited, where he provided narration for all 11 episodes. He played bad boy Lenny Mack too, in Ruth Jones’ Sky comedy drama, Stella, from 2013 to 2014.

During an interview at the NTAs in 2024, Gareth – who is from Wales – conducted the chat speaking Welsh; and his followers were floored.

Rushing to the comments section, one person declared: “Well that’s impressive!”

Someone else added: “Ok, I did not know you were Welsh and l’ve met you.” A third chimed in: “Colour me impressed! Huge fan of your work.”

Echoing their thoughts, another fan said: “That’s impressive but you are an impressive actor mate and smashed it as Todd keep up the great work.”
