Grodner continued explaining that the producers have “heard rumblings that [airing opposite the Olympics] might be the way that Celebrity is utilized” in the future.
This shift could help the show stand out in a crowded winter television landscape. It would allow “Celebrity Big Brother” to capture more attention and spark the kind of chaos viewers love without competing for space with the Olympics’ massive viewership. But it would also mean the show likely won’t return until 2026.
Producers Are Eager to Bring It Back
Producers like Grodner and Rich Meehan have been vocal about their desire for the show’s return, but CBS has yet to officially greenlight the next season. Grodner mentioned in December 2024 that they were still in talks with the network, hoping to revive the chaotic celebrity experience that fans know and love.
She told EW in that same interview, “We can’t speak for CBS, but we agree with you. We think Celebrity is its own thing and is worthy of being on every other year or annually. It’s been a lot of fun, so we’re hoping to see it come back.”
Meehan said almost the same thing when giving his opinion. “It’s really fun, and it would be great to do again, But sometimes we have to wait and see how many scripted shows are happening and all that stuff.” He said. “There are usually much bigger things in play, like it’s scheduling and how much time they have on air, and there are a lot of factors that are much bigger than Big Brother that go into that. But we love doing it,” Meehan explained.
The bottom line: last season’s quick pacing and high drama left an impression, and it’s clear that “Celebrity Big Brother” has a dedicated audience who is ready for more.
