Neighbours star and stepbrother share first pictures of their baby

It’s like something straight out of a soap…

Former Neighbours star Scarlet Vas is celebrating after welcoming her first child with her stepbrother.

The actress, best known for her role as policewoman Mishti Sharma on the show, and her husband Tayo Ricci have welcomed a baby girl just over a year after they tied the knot.

Sharing their little girl’s arrival on Christmas Day, Scarlet wrote: ‘Our Christmas miracle has finally arrived. Merry Christmas from our family to yours.’

She later shared photos of the new family of three posing by the Christmas tree alongside their two dogs and a cute video of herself and Tayo with their daughter.

Scarlet and Tayo, who have not yet revealed their baby’s name, were teens when they first met in Melbourne but eventually they became ‘family’ when their parents struck up a relationship.

In a surprising turn of events, the pair fell in love and went on to wed in a ceremony on the Greek island of Mykonos in September 2023.

Scarlet and Tayo shared their exciting baby news in September with a sweet clip from their Greek wedding which cuts to a clip of them one year on, this time with the former debuting her growing bump.

They also shared some clips from their ultrasound scans where they heard their baby girl’s heartbeat.

Scarlet has been vocal over the backlash against her relationship with Tayo, but insists it ‘doesn’t affect us’.

She previously told news.com.au: ‘I don’t really read our comments section, but if I do, I actually laugh. We find trolls very entertaining.

‘If something’s really negative, we might comment back, we find it is quite a good disarming tactic.’
