Big Brother launches first house in Roblox

The longest-running (25 years) reality program Big Brother is launching its very first virtual house in Roblox, the largest online gaming platform with more than 200 million monthly users worldwide. The Big Brother Simulator was developed in collaboration with international game developers, Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUAS) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

The Big Brother Simulator offers fans and Roblox players an interactive way to experience the iconic format. To mark the new season of Big Brother in the Netherlands and Belgium, gamers in both countries can enter the virtual house, play mini-games, nominate and vote out players, and visit the diary room starting today. They will also have a chance to win exclusive rewards, such as a Big Brother wearable for their avatars.

The project, led by Banijay NXT in collaboration with EndemolShine Netherlands, is in line with Banijay Benelux’s strategy to reach a younger audience, including the fast-growing group of 17-24-year-olds on Roblox.

In the Big Brother Simulator, multiple players can simultaneously play a series of exciting games in a digitally reconstructed version of the Big Brother house. Similar to the TV show, one player drops out per round until one winner finally remains.

The first 500 winners will receive an exclusive reward: a limited edition wearable inspired by the Big Brother brand. The Big Brother Simulator is free and open to players ages 9 and up and will remain available after the TV show’s finale.
