Big Brother Mzansi star shuts down critics!

BIG Brother Mzansi star Eulenda “Yolanda” Monya is grateful to Mzansi.
This is after she won the award for Social Media Dominance of the Year at the South African Social Media Awards (Sasma).
The 32-year-old star spoke to Daily Sun about winning the award.
“It feels amazing and well-deserved. Knowing that my followers believe in my brand motivates me to continue creating content that resonates with them. From trendy hashtags to my podcast, my supporters are always at the forefront, ensuring I remain a key figure in South African pop culture. This award is not just a recognition of my efforts, but also a testament to the loyalty and dedication of my fans,” she said.
She said social media has helped a lot with building her brand.
“After my stint on Big Brother, I realised the potential of social media in advancing conversations, dialogue, and brand awareness. I wanted to leverage this platform to monetise my content, stay at the forefront of pop culture conversations, and engage with my audience in a more meaningful way.
“Social media has given me the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and build a community around my brand,” Yolanda said.
However, navigating a career in the entertainment industry and social media hasn’t been easy.
“Many people doubted my deservingness of the award, and I’ve faced criticism and negativity online. However, my motto is, ‘And what are you going to do about it?! Nothing’.”
“I’ve learnt to focus on my craft, ignore unwanted criticism, and surround myself with supportive people who uplift and motivate me. By staying true to myself and my brand, I’ve been able to maintain a strong presence on social media,” she said.
Yolanda said it’s upward and forward for her from here onwards.
“I aim to be a multi-versatile social media personality, exploring new formats and collaborations to stay relevant and fresh. I’m excited to push the boundaries of what’s possible on social media and to continue inspiring and engaging my audience.
“Whether it’s through new content series, brand partnerships, or community initiatives, I’m committed to using my influence to make a positive impact,” the social media star said.
