The lively track Chiggy Wiggy from the 2009 Bollywood film Blue paired Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, creating an unforgettable East-meets-West musical moment. With its catchy beat and fun choreography, the song became an instant hit and a fan favorite. Recently, Kylie looked back warmly on her whirlwind experience in Mumbai, adding that she hopes “maybe Akshay will invite her over for lunch again.”

In a recent interview with ETimes, Minogue reflected on collaborating with Oscar-winning Indian composer A.R. Rahman for Chiggy Wiggy and shared fond memories of her time on set. She described the energy of her dance rehearsals with choreographer Farah Khan and lunch at Akshay’s home, calling her Bollywood experience “thrilling and memorable.” Laughing, she added that she wouldn’t mind another lunch invitation from Akshay.

When asked about her lasting memories from the visit, Kylie said, “All of it, really. Mumbai was a complete whirlwind! Just to be on a Bollywood set was kind of crazy, in the best way. It was such a warm welcome. I only wish I could have stayed longer, and I only wish that I had been back sooner. I’m working hard to rectify that. Maybe Akshay will invite me over for lunch again.”

Kylie expressed her eagerness to return to India and hopes to one day perform Chiggy Wiggy live for Indian audiences, saying, “One day I will perform Chiggy Wiggy in India. I’ve been saying it for a little while, that’s my mission. I’ll see if I can make it happen.” Asked about current artists she’d like to collaborate with, Kylie admitted her list is long: “I know I should have a clear answer for that, but I never do, because there’s so many artistes that I admire and look up to. Some are in my lane, which would make sense, and others are in another world of music. For those reasons, it would be great. I’m just going to leave the gates open, and we will see what happens.”

With an illustrious career that includes iconic hits like Can’t Get You Out of My Head, the vibrant Love at First Sight, and Spinning Around, Kylie continues to charm fans around the world with her music.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar, who was last seen in Singham Again, has an exciting slate of upcoming projects. These include a film with Dharma Productions alongside Ananya Panday and R. Madhavan, as well as Housefull 5, plus several other releases on the horizon.
